El tradicional cambio anual de \u201cMacana\u201d se desarrolla de forma ritual desde siempre, siguiendo un protocolo marcado por la opini\u00f3n (y decisi\u00f3n) de los m\u00e1s antiguos. El pasado \u201cMacana\u201d (hasta el pasado s\u00e1bado) fue <strong>Domingo Luis Mart\u00edn y Rodr\u00edguez de Acu\u00f1a <\/strong>y, tras la decisi\u00f3n de los veteranos, result\u00f3 elegido nuevo \u201cMacana\u201d (hasta noviembre de 2016) <strong>Jos\u00e9 Antonio Arbelo Puerta<\/strong> (el <strong><em>\u201cLupi\u201d<\/em><\/strong>, para los amigos) hijo del recordado <strong>Lupicinio Arbelo Padr\u00f3n<\/strong>, que fuera alcalde de La Laguna el a\u00f1o 1952 y tambi\u00e9n \u201cMacana\u201d hace 65 a\u00f1os.
