Todo lo anterior lo he escrito de madrugada, mientras acompa\u00f1aba a un familiar (que tristemente ya ha fallecido serenamente) en la Unidad de Cuidados Paliativos que dirige el Dr. <strong>Miguel \u00c1ngel Ben\u00edtez<\/strong> <strong>Del Rosario<\/strong> en el veterano Hospital del T\u00f3rax, que depende del Hospital Universitario Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de Candelaria (HUNSC) que muy bien gerencia (creo) la Dra. <strong>Mercedes Cueto<\/strong>. Debo decir y digo, que la gran profesionalidad con la que atienden y cuidan a los pacientes (en su mayor\u00eda terminales), el respeto y exquisito trato que dispensan a sus familiares, la paciencia que tienen y la diligencia con que trabajan, el modo de capear los \u00faltimos momentos de una cruda enfermedad y el tr\u00e1nsito a lo que <strong>Baden Powell<\/strong> y los boy-scouts llaman \u00abel gran campamento eterno\u00bb, se hace m\u00e1s llevadero con la ayuda de profesionales como los que desarrollan su labor en la Unidad de Cuidados Paliativos. Sin duda, son todo un ejemplo de buen hacer, que merecen que su labor se conozca por todos y que, p\u00fablicamente, sea valorada. En un momento en el que la Sanidad est\u00e1 cuestionada y los recortes afectan a todo y a todos, la impagable y vocacional labor de las y los profesionales del sector (m\u00e9dicos, enfermeras, auxiliares) de la sanidad canaria, como los de Unidad de Cuidados Paliativos del tinerfe\u00f1o Hospital del T\u00f3rax, merecen nuestra sincera felicitaci\u00f3n.
