A riesgo de que algunos me malentiendan y critiquen, voy a romper una lanza por Wolfgang Kiessling<\/strong>, una persona que, siendo joven, all\u00e1 por los a\u00f1os 60, le dijo a su padre que quer\u00eda montar un zool\u00f3gico ejemplar en Tenerife. Su padre, Friedrich Kiessling<\/strong> intent\u00f3 quitarle la idea de la cabeza, convencido que era una aventura complicada, por no decir que una locura en toda regla y le inform\u00f3 de que \u201cun elefante come 200 kilos de verduras al d\u00eda y \u00e9l no ten\u00eda dinero para eso\u201d<\/em>. El joven Wolfgang Kiessling<\/strong> se empe\u00f1\u00f3 en su proyecto y su padre, lo \u00fanico que le pudo decir y le aconsej\u00f3 fue que \u201csi vas a montar un zool\u00f3gico, m\u00f3ntalo de loros y papagayos, que comen poco y viven mucho\u201d<\/em>. Esa fue la idea inicial, pero all\u00e1 por el a\u00f1o 1990 el alcalde del Puerto de la Cruz, F\u00e9lix Real Gonz\u00e1lez<\/strong> le pidi\u00f3 que acogiera en su recinto a unos chimpanc\u00e9s, que un fot\u00f3grafo estaba maltratando en las calles del Puerto, utiliz\u00e1ndolos para que los turistas se sacaran fotos. Ellos fueron los primeros mam\u00edferos que entraron en un parque hasta entonces solo de aves.<\/p>\n
