Tras el protocolario saludo de Mar\u00eda de las Angustias<\/strong> a las autoridades y p\u00fablico presente, su magn\u00edfico mensaje, lleno de profundo contenido, comenz\u00f3 as\u00ed: \u201c<\/em>Pronto cumplir\u00e9 92 a\u00f1os, madrile\u00f1a soy de nacimiento, me cas\u00e9 en los a\u00f1os 50 con un tinerfe\u00f1o, gran persona y muy querido en la Isla. En aquel entonces, donde hoy est\u00e1 el hotel, hab\u00eda un barranco y plataneras junto al mar. Un d\u00eda vi en este paraje a muchos extranjeros, durmiendo al aire libre y en el suelo, y pens\u00e9, que esto era inadmisible, que hab\u00eda que ofrecerles cobijo y se crear\u00eda empleo. Era f\u00e1cil verlo, pero en aquel entonces solo se pensaba en los pl\u00e1tanos\u201d.<\/em> Y culmin\u00f3 Mar\u00eda de las Angustias<\/strong> el comienzo de su mensaje diciendo: \u201cEl turismo no entraba en la consideraci\u00f3n del ayuntamiento de entonces, nos cost\u00f3 a mi marido y a m\u00ed, pero, en 1960 pudimos inaugurar este hotel\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
