All\u00e1 por el a\u00f1o 1890, Poramintharamaha Prajadhipok, (Rey Rama VII)<\/strong> abuelo del recientemente fallecido Rey de Tailandia, Bhumidol Adulyadej<\/strong>, vino a Tenerife y qued\u00f3 enamorado de nuestra isla y sus gentes. Tanto que Prajadhipok<\/strong> escribi\u00f3 en un diario de viajes aut\u00e9nticas maravillas de nuestra tierra, relatando, entre otras, su visita al Drago de Icod de Los Vinos y a la ciudad de La Laguna. Aunque Tailandia est\u00e1 a m\u00e1s de 11.000 kil\u00f3metros de Tenerife, desde aquella an\u00e9cdota real el antiguo Reino de Siam ha seguido teniendo siempre una estrecha relaci\u00f3n con nuestra isla. Hoy Tailandia est\u00e1 de luto por la muerte de su jefe de Estado. Para la inmensa mayor\u00eda de las tailandesas y tailandeses, el fallecido Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rey Rama IX)<\/strong> era toda una divinidad, o casi. Tanto que, desde su fallecimiento el pasado 13 de octubre, el pa\u00eds est\u00e1 viviendo un a\u00f1o completo de luto oficial. En vida consigui\u00f3 ser el jefe de Estado que m\u00e1s tiempo ha llevado en el cargo ininterrumpidamente, un total de siete d\u00e9cadas. Le ha sucedido en el trono su hijo, Maha Vajiralongkorn<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
