\u2666 \u00a0Fue en ese momento, ya en la Isla, cuando realiz\u00f3 el primer dise\u00f1o bas\u00e1ndose en terrenos propuestos por el mandatario portuense en las cercan\u00edas del Hotel Taoro para dar forma al dise\u00f1o definitivo, que no llegar\u00eda hasta 1964. Precisamente en este a\u00f1o, siendo presidente del Cabildo Isidoro Luz, se firm\u00f3 el que parec\u00eda iba a ser el acuerdo definitivo para patrocinar la construcci\u00f3n y posterior funcionamiento del conjunto denominado Residencia Canaria de Cultura Internacional, dedicado a fines culturales y de intercambio entre pa\u00edses de Europa y Am\u00e9rica… Sin embargo, las condiciones socio-econ\u00f3micas de la sociedad canaria de la \u00e9poca, el cambio en la presidencia del Cabildo y necesidades de infraestructuras de comunicaci\u00f3n de mayor urgencia, paralizaron el proyecto apenas iniciado. Fue as\u00ed como hasta la actualidad esta idea ha quedado relegada a un segundo plano y pr\u00e1cticamente desde\u00f1ada. Los principios y la funci\u00f3n cultural y social que sustentaron aquella propuesta de Westerdahl<\/strong> y Sartoris<\/strong> hoy siguen manteniendo intacto su valor, a pesar de haber transcurrido<\/strong> cincuenta a\u00f1os\u2026<\/p>\n
