Para m\u00ed (y creo que para muchos) <strong>Victoriano R\u00edos P\u00e9rez<\/strong> (Q.e.p.d.) fue y seguir\u00e1 siendo un ejemplo de pol\u00edtico que ten\u00eda a su tierra y su gente por encima de su propio partido pol\u00edtico y de su inter\u00e9s personal. Recuerdo c\u00f3mo en \u201cnuestra\u201d Punta del Hidalgo, mirando al mar desde el restaurante \u201cLa Caseta\u201d, me contaba su idea de una Canarias unida, un partido nacionalista moderado, aglutinador de voluntades, y un consolidado grupo parlamentario canario en Madrid que recordase en el Congreso y en el Senado (sin victimismo y sin mendigar) la realidad de un territorio alejado y fragmentado. Tambi\u00e9n <strong>Victoriano R\u00edos<\/strong>, creo que junto con los recordados <strong>Manuel Alem\u00e1n De Armas<\/strong> (PSOE) y <strong>Miguel \u00c1ngel Barbuzano<\/strong>, sugiri\u00f3 la teor\u00eda de <em>\u201clos vasos comunicantes\u201d<\/em> para que el Gobierno de Canarias (condenado a gobernar en coaliciones) repartiese los cargos entre los partidos gobernantes y que las consejer\u00edas no fuesen compartimentos estancos del mismo \u201ccolor pol\u00edtico\u201d desde el consejero al conserje.
