El a\u00f1o 1982, a un grupo de tinerfe\u00f1os amantes del motor y due\u00f1os de alg\u00fan Mercedes Benz, junto con empleados de la marca en la isla, se les ocurri\u00f3 promover un club de propietarios, a la usanza de otros pa\u00edses del mundo. Liderados por el ya desinquieto Enrique L\u00f3pez Cano<\/strong> (empleado de A&R y magn\u00edfico vendedor de Mercedes Benz) contactaron con los representantes de la marca en Canarias, Ahlers &\u2008Ranh (Tenerife) y Flick (Gran Canaria), que vieron con agrado la idea. Un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s, en 1983, y apoyados por algunos periodistas relacionados con el mundo del motor, entre los que estaba Antonio Castro<\/strong> y un servidor, Enrique L\u00f3pez Cano<\/strong> logr\u00f3 montar una exposici\u00f3n en los locales de Ahlers &\u2008Ranh en la avenida Tres de Mayo, y all\u00ed se puso la \u201cPrimera Piedra\u201d del club, comenzando a tramitarse el papeleo oficial, incluyendo el permiso de la marca alemana, para reconocer el club y poder utilizar el nombre Mercedes Benz y sus s\u00edmbolos. El club est\u00e1 cumpliendo 35 a\u00f1os y el s\u00e1bado lo celebr\u00f3 con una gran fiesta en el hotel Las \u00c1guilas del Puerto de la Cruz.<\/p>\n
