Fue piloto de carreras (en las especialidades de monta\u00f1a, rally y circuito). Como an\u00e9cdota, cabe se\u00f1alar que <strong>Jos\u00e9 Miguel <\/strong>particip\u00f3 en la primera carrera que se realiz\u00f3 en el Circuito del Jarama y, actualmente, preside la Confederaci\u00f3n Iberoamericana de Centros de Formaci\u00f3n de Conductores (CICEFOV).
