Una vez, en una entrevista radiof\u00f3nica que le hice en directo, emitida en la ya desaparecida RadioCadena Espa\u00f1ola en Canarias, C\u00e9sar, se autodefini\u00f3 como \u201cun hombre del espacio\u201d y me cont\u00f3 que, en el momento de su nacimiento, vino al mundo sin poder respirar. Al verle casi morado, la partera no dud\u00f3 en lanzarlo hacia arriba (le aventaron al espacio, dec\u00eda el) y que, del susto que se llev\u00f3 al verse caer al vac\u00edo, comenz\u00f3 a respirar. O sea, que \u201chab\u00eda ca\u00eddo y nacido desde el espacio\u201d. Hoy Canarias respira mejor (y m\u00e1s que deber\u00eda hacerlo) gracias a la filosof\u00eda y las ense\u00f1anzas del gran <strong>C\u00e9sar<\/strong>. Otro merecido homenaje es el que el empresario <strong>Wolfgang Kiessling<\/strong>, gran coleccionista de arte y especialmente de obras de artistas canarios, est\u00e1 tributando al irrepetible <strong>C\u00e9sar Manrique<\/strong>en la entrada hotel Bot\u00e1nico del Puerto de la Cruz, que dirige <strong>Gustavo Escobar\u00a0<\/strong>y que, en verdad, es un hotel-pinacoteca.
