El Rey, <strong>Luis Yeray Guti\u00e9rrez<\/strong> (alcalde de La Laguna) no pudo asistir a la comida, por coincidir \u00e9sta con la fecha del Pleno mensual del Ayuntamiento lagunero. Y otra curiosa an\u00e9cdota se produjo previamente al almuerzo, cuando el predicador del quinario de este a\u00f1o en honor al Cristo, monse\u00f1or <strong>Ciriaco Benavente\u2008Mateos<\/strong> firm\u00f3 en el \u201cLibro de Honor\u201d de la Esclavitud y en el texto de la dedicatoria (igual que ya lo hab\u00eda hecho a viva voz en las dos primeras homil\u00edas del quinario) \u201celev\u00f3\u201d a la Esclavitud al rango y categor\u00eda de \u201cSanta\u201d. Ni que decir tiene que la cosa agrad\u00f3 a mucha gente lagunera, comenzando por el propio Esclavo Mayor de la que (de ser cierto lo del nuevo rango) pasar\u00eda a denominarse:\u2008Santa, Pontificia, Real y Venerable Esclavitud del Stmo.
