Por ello, el a\u00f1o 1974, cuando ten\u00eda 18 a\u00f1os, comenc\u00e9 a estudiar la carrera de aparejador en la Escuela de Arquitectura T\u00e9cnica de La Laguna. All\u00ed tuve la oportunidad, el privilegio y hasta el honor de conocer a <strong>Rafael Monz\u00f3n Geara<\/strong> (m\u00e1s conocido por todos cari\u00f1osamente como <strong>Felo Monz\u00f3n \u201cHijo\u201d,<\/strong> un socialista de pro que era hijo del gran artista <strong>Rafael Monz\u00f3n Grau-Bassas<\/strong> (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1910-1989) uno de los grandes art\u00edfices de la nueva s\u00edntesis identitaria de la \u201ccanariedad\u201d, formulada pl\u00e1sticamente en el seno de la Escuela de <strong>Luj\u00e1n P\u00e9rez<\/strong>, en los a\u00f1os 30 del pasado siglo.
