Por ello, las unidades que manda el teniente general <strong>Carlos Palacios Zaforteza<\/strong>, como jefe del Mando de Canarias, han estado esta \u00faltima semana, callada y discretamente, colaborando con su trabajo en la isla de Lanzarote, ayudando a desinfectar los centros de Playa Blanca, Playa Honda, Tahiche o Valterra. Es muy f\u00e1cil opinar alegremente y pensar que ej\u00e9rcito y milicia son siempre y obligatoriamente sin\u00f3nimos de guerra, ataque y violencia, sin pensar que, seguramente, son mucho m\u00e1s protagonistas de la defensa, la disuasi\u00f3n y la paz.\u00a0 Esta imagen que ahora les pongo son reflejo de lo que han estado haciendo estos \u00faltimos d\u00edas en territorio conejero dentro del marco de la Operaci\u00f3n \u201cMisi\u00f3n Baluarte\u201d, los equipos de descontaminaci\u00f3n de la Brigada \u201cCanarias\u201d. Estas labores se encuadran dentro del apoyo realizado por las unidades del Mando de Canarias en la recepci\u00f3n, transporte y custodia de la primera remesa de vacunas hasta su entrega a las respectivas autoridades sanitarias locales, o el trabajo diario de los rastreadores militares que actualmente est\u00e1n realizando en las islas de Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura y Lanzarote. Es muy f\u00e1cil (y libre) opinar y criticar alegremente la realidad de las Fuerzas Armadas, su esp\u00edritu, su misi\u00f3n institucional y su profesionalidad en el marco de nuestra democracia y nuestra Constituci\u00f3n. Pero en los momentos dif\u00edciles, bien que tiramos de ellas y nos honra su trabajo \u00aben pie de paz\u00bb, en pro de nuestra defensa y la de nuestra tierra, as\u00ed como su predisposici\u00f3n para ayudar, como ahora, en los momentos de crisis, cat\u00e1strofes o tragedias de cualquier tipo.
